Slade’s singles will be the subject of a comprehensive new collection. Cum On Feel The Hitz, a play on words of their 1973 #1 U.K. hit, “Cum on Feel the Noize,” will be released September 25 via BMG. The collection includes the English glam era band’s singles from 1970 to 1991. Cum On Feel The Hitz is released as a 2-CD and 2-LP collection with 43 songs.

Cum On Feel The Hitz: The Best of Slade includes all six of their U.K. #1 singles: “Coz I Luv You,” “Take Me Bak ‘Ome’,” ”Mama Weer All Crazee Now,” “Cum On Feel the Noize”, “Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me“ and “Merry Xmas Everybody,” and a total of sixteen Top 10 singles. From the July 29 announcement: Formed in Wolverhampton, U.K. in 1966, Slade‘s chart career spanned three decades. They were one of Europe’s biggest bands throughout the seventies with numerous hit albums, including three that topped the U.K. charts. Many of their hit singles are synonymous with the era. The songwriting partnership of Noddy Holder and Jim Lea provided a soundtrack to the Glam Generation and with an unprecedented run of 17 consecutive Top 20 U.K. singles between 1971 and 1976.

In the ’80s, Slade enjoyed a renaissance, buoyed by an appearance at the Reading Festival in 1980 and their return to the top of the charts with 1983’s “My oh My” 1984’s “Run Runaway.” Top 40 programmers in the U.S. largely ignored the band, with just a minor showing on the charts in the early ’70s. It wasn’t until “Run Runaway” that the band earned their only Top 20 pop hit in the U.S.
