The “Never-Ending Tour” of Bob Dylan will make its way back to North America in mid-June and throughout July, following his spring European tour. The summer tour was announced today (March 20). A single date, at the Firefly Festival in Dover, DE, had previously been revealed. Tickets are on sale here. and on the secondary market at TicketNetwork.
Dylan announced on January 31 that he will release a three-CD set (his first ever) titled Triplicate, containing more of the interpretations of Frank Sinatra-associated Great American Songbook classics that have filled his past two albums, Shadows in the Night and Fallen Angels. More of those old standards have found their way into his recent concert setlists, while Dylan’s own iconic compositions of the ’60s and ’70s have been eliminated.
Triplicate will be simultaneously released in several configurations on March 31, including a 3-CD digipak, a 3-LP vinyl set and a 3-LP deluxe vinyl limited edition packaged in a numbered case.
Three songs have been released thus far: “My One and Only Love,” “I Could Have Told You” and “Stardust.”
NPR has 10 selections here.
At his last shows in the U.S., prior to his two December appearances at the Desert Trip Festival, Dylan performed only five of his own classic rock favorites: “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,” “Highway 61 Revisited,” “Tangled Up in Blue,” “Desolation Row” and “Blowin’ in the Wind.” He tossed in a few others at Desert Trip, including “Like a Rolling Stone” and “Masters of War.”

Though it has yet to be confirmed, on March 3 Sheryl Crow let slip that she would be joining Willie Nelson on his Outlaw tour and that other acts were expected for some of the dates including “some Bob Dylan I think I’m hearing. I’m hearing Neil Young maybe… It’s gonna be the funnest tour of all time.”
