Squeeze have announced the opening acts for their 2019 U.S. tour. The band, led by U.K. songwriting legends Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, will perform their extensive list of favorites as well as rare, lesser-known gems from their back catalogue and solo careers.

Joining them for various shows this summer are KT Tunstall, They Might Be Giants, X, Marshall Crenshaw, The Mavericks and Leon Tilbrook. (See the specific info for all of the dates below.)

Since their first release in 1978, “Take Me I’m Yours,” Difford and Tilbrook established their reputation as great tunesmiths with a string of classic rock Squeeze songs including “Goodbye Girl,” “Another Nail in My Heart,” “Pulling Mussels From The Shell,” “Tempted,” “Black Coffee in Bed,” “Hourglass,” “Cool For Cats,” “Up The Junction” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”

A U.K. tour follows in autumn; an Australian and New Zealand leg is already scheduled for 2020.

These songs also established Difford and Tilbrook as two of the most prolific songwriters of their time with each amassing a wealth of melody-rich earworms over the past four decades as both Squeeze and solo artists.
