The Rolling Stones Latin America tour resumed on Sunday night, February 7th, in Buenos Aires at Estadio Único Ciudad de La Plata. Dubbed “América Latina Olé,” the stadium tour began last Wednesday in Santiago Chile. It also makes stops in Rio, São Paulo, Lima and Mexico City among its dates. Since the band members are of “a certain age,” they’ve scheduled plenty of days off: the 13 concerts span six weeks. You do the math.
The classic rockers began their #StonesArgentina performance with – naturally – “Start Me Up” followed by “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll” and “Tumbling Dice.” As with opening night, the “World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” played 19 songs. The complete list from Setlist.fm:
“Start Me Up”
“It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll”
“Tumbling Dice”
“Out of Control”
“Street Fighting Man”
“Anybody Seen My Baby”
“Wild Horses”
“Paint It Black”
“Honky Tonk Women”
“Can’t Be Seen With You” (Keith Richards on lead vocals)
“Happy” (Keith Richards on lead vocals)
“Midnight Rambler”
“Miss You”
“Gimme Shelter”
“Brown Sugar”
“Sympathy For the Devil”
“Jumpin’ Jack Flash”
Encore
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want”
“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
The only song changes from the tour’s first performance was the substitution of “Street Fighting Man,” “Anybody Seen My Baby” and “Can’t Be Seen With You” instead of “Let’s Spend the Night Together,” “She’s a Rainbow” and “We Got the Silver.”
From Sunday night’s show, here’s a nicely edited clip that shows the stadium in daylight while still filling up, culminating with “Start Me Up”:
Here’s a brief clip that the Stones have officially released of “Street Fighting Man”:
And the same song from an attendee’s perspective…
“Midnight Rambler”…
