Roger Waters The WallThat “one-day-only” theatrical showing of Roger Waters The Wall that we told you about recently? It was all to set up the December 1st release of the concert film on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital HD.

The feature film was written and directed by Waters and Sean Evans. From the announcement: “The film unfolds on many levels – an immersive and undeniably epic concert experience of the classic Pink Floyd album, a road movie of Waters’ reckoning with the past and an anti-war protest film, highlighting the human cost of conflict.”

The concert portion of the film was shot during Waters’ sold-out 2010-2013 “The Wall Live” tour that celebrated the enormously popular 1979 Pink Floyd album and featured a 500-foot backdrop that is one of the most iconic pieces of rock’n’roll staging – the famed “wall.” The tour was seen by over 1.5 million fans across North America and another two million worldwide. The film includes the hits “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2,” “Comfortably Numb” and “Run Like Hell.”

Beyond the music, the film follows Waters as he embarks on a deeply personal pilgrimage and reflects on the impact of war on his own family. Woven throughout the film, he travels to France to the site where his grandfather is buried, and Italy to a memorial for his father – both lost to war.

The two-disc Blu-ray and Digital HD features over 95 minutes of bonus footage from the moment when Waters was joined on stage by Pink Floyd bandmates David Gilmour and Nick Mason at London’s O2 Arena in a performance of “Comfortably Numb” during “The Wall Live” tour.

And, if you still want to see it in theaters, the movie’s website indicates that it’s still playing, even into October. The original theatrical trailer:
