Paul McCartney has released two new songs recorded during the sessions for his 2018 album, Egypt Station. The never-before-heard tracks—”Home Tonight” and “In A Hurry”—were released digitally on November 22, one week before a very limited edition of a double A-side 7-inch picture disc single via Capitol Records on November 29 for Record Store Day’s annual Black Friday event.

McCartney shared the news of the songs’ existence on October 8, the same day that RSD Black Friday announced the special releases for its 2019 event.

Both “Home Tonight” and “In A Hurry” were recorded during the Greg Kurstin sessions for McCartney’s #1 charting album Egypt Station.

The vinyl picture disc, limited to a production of 12,000 copies, will feature new and exclusively created artwork based upon the parlor game, Exquisite Corpse, along with a lyric insert.

Record Store Day, an annual event in April, celebrates the unique cultures that surround thousands of independently owned, brick-and-mortar record stores in the U.S. and abroad. The organization has been throwing a second, slightly smaller version of the event for Black Friday, redirecting holiday shoppers’ focus back to local businesses. The complete list and descriptions of Black Friday 2019 releases is here, including titles from Bad Company, Chuck Berry, Cheap Trick, The Doors, Pretenders, and many more.

The horn section stands out on both of these tracks.
