To celebrate his 70th birthday, legendary English singer-songwriter Graham Parker has announced a new live album, Five Old Souls, recorded in 2018 with his backing band, The Goldtops, and the return of the Rumour Brass. The concert, the final show of his 2018 Cloud Symbols tour, was “recorded professionally,” he says, at the Engine Rooms in Southampton, U.K.. The setlist also includes many old favorites with a heavy focus on the Howlin’ Wind and Heat Treatment albums among its 16 tracks. (See the track listing below.)

Five Old Souls is available for pre-order exclusively via 100% Records here. You’ll be able to get a free instant download. The manufacturing of the CDs have been delayed a bit due to the second lockdown. (“It’s gone all “squidgy,” Parker says.) And in a burst of generosity, once they’re ready, signed copies are available at no extra charge. The label notes, “the process of getting Graham to sign them will mean that they ship a little later than unsigned copies.”

Parker completed work on the album during the first lockdown. Of his recent landmark 70th birthday on Nov. 18, 2020, Parker says, “It’s the new 69.”
