On July 6, 2023, Eagles announced a final tour, “The Long Goodbye,” indicating that the band—Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey—would perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. And for a while, they did that with multiple concerts in New York, Los Angeles, Manchester, UK, and elsewhere.
Things shifted in 2024, when they announced a residency at the shiny, new venue Sphere, in Las Vegas. That run commenced on Sept. 20 of that year. On August 4, 2026, the band announced another four shows at the facility—their first dates of 2026—bringing the total to 74 there. Pre-sales for the newest dates begin August 12 at 10 a.m. local time. The general on-sale will be on August 14 at 10 a.m. PT here.

Their April 2026 dates at Sphere, announced on Feb. 11, were a significant surprise since they had stated all the way back on Nov. 10, 2025, that their concerts in March were to be their final shows of 2026. The run there began September 20, 2024, and after pausing on April 12, 2025, they returned last fall for shows in September, October and November, and again in January 2026.) Tickets start at $175 and reflect all-in pricing, meaning the ticket price listed is inclusive of taxes and fees.

In a lengthy February interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Don Henley, who will turn 79 on July 22, indicated that he thinks 2026 will be the end of the touring road for the band. “We’ve been around for a long time. We’re some of the last of our generation to still be playing live. We’ve been touring on-and-off since [1972].
“I think this year will probably be it. And I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end. And that will be fine.”
He added, “I’ve been all over the world, but I haven’t seen much of it, because we see the airports and the hotel room and the venue and we don’t get out much, you know?”

The months-long rumor of the band performing at the state-of-the-art facility at the Venetian Resort heated up on May 10, 2024, when USA Today reported on a comment made by James Dolan, the CEO of Sphere Entertainment, during a quarterly earnings call. The venue opened in September 2023 with a residency by U2. The “U2:UV Actung Baby Live at Sphere” run was eventually expanded to 40 dates at the arena-sized facility, ending on March 2, 2024.

Jump into a conversationSince Glen Frey passed away, leaving only 1 original member left (Don Henley), they have been reduced to a competent tribute band. When was the last time they released an album with new material? But luckily, we still have the old albums if we want to be reminded of how great they used to be.
Unfortunately, they are not even a competent tribute band. As established on the Wings of Pegasus YouTube site, they are lip syncing most of the time. In other words, those in attendance are paying big bucks simply to see a group of guys pretend to perform Eagles songs.
These have been the “Final” concerts for the past year! Retire already!
I think they do it just to poke Don Felder in the eye.
Make the last show a Pay-Per-View.
Henley and Frey (as talented as they were themselves, reportedly, were the resident dictators within the Eagles) really f’d up with their treatment of Randy Meisner, Don Felder, and Bernie Leadon.
Lost my interest in the band after they were gone.
Although Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit are terrific accomplished musicians, and I enjoy their own music as well), the original/early Eagles set the stage for their subsequent multi-decade “Farewell Tour”, starting after Don Felder was “dismissed” (right…..)
Randy Meisner brought his ethereal lead vocals and harmonization to the Eagles’ music.
Don Felder brought the instrumental muscle to the Eagles’ music.
Bernie Leadon brought the intelligence, multi- instrumentation, and composition skills to the Eagles’ music.
“The Long Run” was the last of the Eagles prominence (and a few songs on it were sketchy, at that).
“Hell Freezes Over” and “Long Road Out of Eden” are in my collection, only due to being a completist, but they rarely hit the disc player, due to lack of interest.
P.S. – I saw Don Felder just a few years back, in concert, and the guy is incredible.
Side note – Don Felder helped to teach a young Tom Petty how to play guitar, when they both lived in Gainesville FL – not shabby credentials.
