Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra Xmas Releases Coming

New holiday collections from two of the best singers of all-time were announced today by their respective record labels. Frank Sinatra‘s Ultimate Christmas showcases 20 festive and warm holiday classics from Sinatra’s Capitol and Reprise catalogs. And Elvis Presley‘s Christmas With Elvis and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra brings together his best-loved yuletide performances from 1957’s Elvis’ Christmas Album and 1971’s Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas “re-imagined with sublime and exquisite new arrangements.” Both titles are being released on Oct. 6.

Ultimate Christmas features Sinatra’s versions of such traditional holiday songs like “White Christmas,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” as well as the uptempo “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” His children add their voices to several songs including “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” The collection’s recordings span 1954 to 1991, with arrangements by Nelson Riddle, Don Costa, and Gordon Jenkins, among others. The set, from Capitol/UMe, is being released on CD, 180g 2-LP vinyl and a white vinyl limited edition.

The Presley collection, via RCA Records and Legacy Recordings, marks the third recent collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, following 2015’s If I Can Dream and 2016’s The Wonder of You, which Legacy notes have sold a combined 2.3 million copies worldwide.

The release includes such Presley holiday favorites as “Merry Christmas Baby,” “Blue Christmas” and “Santa Bring My Baby Back (To Me).” (See full track listing below.) It’s available on CD, vinyl and a Deluxe Edition CD.
