Jackson Browne has announced a June 2017 full band tour in Ireland, Scotland and England. The tour begins on June 12 in Dublin, Ireland for four nights, and includes two Royal Albert Hall shows in London, England. (See listings below.)
Accompanying Browne are longtime bandmates Val McCallum (guitar), Mauricio Lewak (Drums), Jeff Young (keyboards), Bob Glaub (bass), Alethea Mills (Vocals) and the acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Greg Leisz (guitar, lap steel, pedal steel).
Advance ticket, Guacamole Fund Benefit Seat, and VIP Package sales are available this Thursday, Dec. 8 at 10 AM local GMT.
“This is my ideal band, with some of my favorite players, whose combined gifts provide the musical foundation and emotional underpinnings of my new songs,” says Jackson. “The interplay between Val McCallum and Greg Leisz – the effortlessness of their chemistry is a gift really, that just dropped into my lap. I feel fortunate to have them out on the road for this tour.”
In November, Browne announced details on what he’s calling the (Pretty Much) Somewhat Acoustic Tour for next April. Here’s that original item…
The tour will encompass 14 dates in the Northeast and Canada, beginning April 5 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and ending April 27 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The singer-songwriter will be joined on some dates by multi-instrumentalist Greg Leisz, on others by sister and brother singer-songwriters Sara and Sean Watkins on others, and by all three on selected dates.
Browne, who recently finished a solo acoustic tour, is best known for his laid-back vibe, which helped set the tone for much of the music that came out of Southern California in the ’70s. It was during this time that Browne co-wrote “Take it Easy” with the late Glenn Frey, which would go on to become the first hit song for the Eagles. Interestingly, he revisited the site of that song on a number from his most recent album, Standing in the Breach, “Leaving Winslow.”
