Keith Richards and many other musical giants helped rock the 2018 edition of Love Rocks NYC!, held last night (March 15) at Manhattan’s Beacon Theatre. Richards sang “Happy” from the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street and also dug deep into his solo catalog for a duet with Norah Jones.

The event attracted such boldfaced classic rock names as Donald Fagen, Heart’s Ann Wilson, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Patty Smyth, Mavis Staples, Ziggy Marley, Emmylou Harris, Gary Clark Jr., Jimmie Vaughan, Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo, Marc Cohn, Amy Helm, Lucinda Williams, Ivan Neville, former New York Yankee Bernie Williams, and more to raise funds and awareness for the charity God’s Love We Deliver.

On a stirring rendition of the Band’s “The Weight,” lead vocals were performed by Staples, Cohn, Helm and Fagen. (Watch it below.) Ann Wilson sang a sizzling version of Heart’s “Barracuda” as well as Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.”

The second annual show is described as “a marquee event that unites new and existing supporters of God’s Love We Deliver and allows people to celebrate their passion for this beloved charity through music—the universal language that speaks to us all. For one amazing night each year, the stage of the historic Beacon Theatre is electrified with world-class talent—brought together to support a fantastic cause.”

The house band, back from last year, included musical director Will Lee (the CBS Orchestra), plus Paul Shaffer (the CBS Orchestra), Steve Gadd (James Taylor, Eric Clapton), Shawn Pelton (Saturday Night Live), Eric Krasno (Soulive, Phil Lesh & Friends), Larry Campbell (Levon Helm, Bob Dylan) and Jeff Young (Jackson Browne).
