John Krasinski Stuns Fan With ‘Hamilton’ Cast Performance: Watch
by Best Classic Bands StaffJohn Krasinski was expecting to have a very busy spring, promoting the sequel to his hugely successful 2018 science fiction horror film, A Quiet Place. Though AQP2 had its premiere as planned on March 8, its late March release was postponed to Sept. 4, due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The original film, which Krasinski co-wrote, directed, and starred in with his wife, Emily Blunt, is about a post-apocalyptic world whose population is attacked by some not-so-nice beings. It was made on a shoestring budget, reportedly between $17-21 million. Its worldwide box-office tally was north of $340 million.

In the months leading up to A Quiet Place II, Krasinski got some great exposure when he co-starred with actor Chris Evans, SNL alum Rachel Dratch, and Red Sox legend David Ortiz in a TV spot for the all-new Hyundai Sonata. The ad, dubbed “Smaht Pahk,” for the use of the actors’ intentionally overdone Boston accents when they say “Smart Park,” aired on the Super Bowl and elsewhere in the following weeks.
With unexpected time on his hands, the likable alum of TV’s The Office, decided to return to the small screen to produce a web series called Some Good News. It may sound corny, but as he says, “We’re all going through an incredibly trying time but, through all the anxiety, confusion and isolation, the human spirit still found the time to break through and blow us all away.”
Krasinski crowd sourced items from his followers on social media, and during the 15-minute piece, which debuted on March 29, he shared incredibly heartfelt stories… from clips showing people applauding medical professionals, a man seeing his grandchild for the first time, a retired paratrooper mowing the lawn of a neighbor who is deployed overseas, a Virginia couple who got engaged, and so on. The clip flies by with Krasinski’s engaging manner.
At just past the 5:30 mark, Krasinski is joined via the video conferencing service, Zoom, for a live chat with his Office co-star Steve Carell, to reminisce about the series which recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.
Shortly after the 11-minute mark, Krasinski shared footage of a teenaged girl who, when she returned home following her final chemotherapy treatment, was surprised by her entire neighborhood, who warmly cheered her.
“No matter how tough life can get,” he says, “there’s always good in the world.”

It’s all in the family. Even the cheesy SGN network sign was created by his daughters, Hazel and Violet.
