The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger is playing select U.S. concerts this spring.  The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has seven dates so far in April and another four in May.

At just 21-years-old, he had co-written a #1 pop single, “Light My Fire,” with his bandmates. A few months later the follow-up, “People Are Strange,” which he co-wrote with Jim Morrison, went to #12. And then, his own composition, “Love Me Two Times,” reached #25. His “Love Her Madly,” from the LA Woman album, was a #11 chart hit.

After the Doors disbanded, Krieger continued his performing and recording career with other musicians including former Doors bandmates John Densmore and Ray Manzarek. Krieger is listed by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

Krieger has collaborated over the years on several studio recordings to tackle classic songs by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Supertramp and others. A new collection of these sessions, including two never-before-released mixes and a bonus live recording are available on CD for the first time.

In Session features guest appearances by Jackson Browne, Asia-King Crimson vet John Wetton, who died on January 31 of this year, Styx’s Tommy Shaw, the Zombies’ Rod Argent, Yes-Asia-Buggles keyboardist Geoff Downes, plus Yes veterans Tony Kaye and Billy Sherwood. The collection was released February 17 from Purple Pyramid Records. Order it here.

The tour also coincides with the March 31 release of the 50th anniversary release of the Doors debut album, an expanded version of that self-titled LP. The Doors: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition will be released as a 3-CD/LP set, featuring stereo and mono mixes and rare live recordings. (Order it here.)

Packaged in a 12×12 hardcover book, The Doors: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Editionincludes a remastered version of the album’s original stereo mix, available on CD for the first time in a decade and remastered for the first time in nearly 30 years.
