Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb, Son Perform Acoustic ‘Stayin’ Alive’
by Best Classic Bands StaffWith music venues closed around the world due to the Covid-19 outbreak, many musicians looked to help entertain house-bound fans by streaming live performances from, in many cases, their own living rooms. Such was the case on March 28, 2020, when the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb played a set of several of the trio’s favorites on the live streaming service, Twitch, as part of an event dubbed Twitch Stream Aid 2020. Sir Barry – he was knighted in 2018 – was joined by his son, Stephen, himself a veteran musician.
The duo performed acoustic versions of 1977’s “Stayin’ Alive,” 1971’s “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” and 1968’s “Words.”
The Bee Gees earned 19 singles that reached the U.K. Top 10, including the #1 hits “Massachusetts,” “I’ve Gotta Get a Message to You,” “Night Fever,” “Tragedy” and “You Win Again.” In the U.S., the trio had fifteen Top 10 singles including an astonishing nine that reached #1 including many in the late ’70s when they reached their commercial peak.

This is incredible!! Thanks so much for your gift of music!!
The right thing would’ve been for Barry to introduce his son since he was there playing with him!
I think they were trying to just do an informal type of entertainment for their fans due to corona and everyone just being casually home. And if you’re a Bee Gees Fan you should know who Stephen is as they probably thought most knew too (I think) have a great night
