The Rolling Stones today (April 24) teased a new collection via their social media platforms. A 15-second clip on YouTube provided only the most basic clues as to what it could be.
As the clip begins, the sound of a needle hitting a vinyl record is heard, followed by the first 13 seconds of the band’s 1981 hit single, “Start Me Up.” At the same time, the graphic shows the Stones‘ familiar tongue and lips logo getting animated and then begin to spin as if on a turntable. We then see what certainly appears to be a boxed set, whose spine reveals 15 miniature Stones logos.
At the 11-second mark, the date “June 15” shows up.
Immediate speculation is that a 15-LP vinyl boxed set is coming on June 15, though nothing is showing up yet on online retail sites, hence the teaser campaign.
