Share This:

Rod Stewart has announced the released of a new album recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The album pairs classic vocal tracks from his most popular songs with new arrangements. The September 18 announcement notes that the singer, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, celebrates 50 years as a solo artist this year. You’re in My Heart: Rod Stewart With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, coming November 22 from Rhino, includes new orchestral versions of such classic rock hits as “Maggie May,” “Stay With Me,” “Tonight’s The Night (Gonna Be Alright),” and “The First Cut is the Deepest.” (See the complete track listing and watch several clips below.)

The announcement follows Stewart‘s revelation that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016. The singer-songwriter, now 74, has enjoyed sales of more than 250 million records worldwide including nine #1 albums and 26 Top 10 singles in the U.K. In the U.S., he has earned 17 Top 10 albums and 16 Top 10 singles.

You’re in My Heart: Rod Stewart With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra also features a new version of the hit song “It Takes Two” featuring Robbie Williams and a brand-new song “Stop Loving Her Today.” The album will be released November 22 as a single CD and as a 2-CD deluxe edition that features the full orchestral arrangements.

Produced by Trevor Horn, the release includes new orchestral versions of Stewart’s #1 U.K. hits: “Sailing,” “I Don’t Want To Talk About It” and “The First Cut Is The Deepest.”

The release coincides with the continuation of Stewart’s biggest U.K. tour ever with live performances in November and December. In addition, he returns to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and a show on September 27 at the Hollywood Bowl with a landmark reunion set with his former bandmate Jeff Beck.
