Rod Stewart Has Glastonbury 2025 ‘Covered’ With Ronnie Wood and Friends
by Best Classic Bands StaffWe should all be so vital at 80. Rod Stewart was just that as he took the stage Sunday (June 29, 2025) on the closing day of the Glastonbury Festival for a rousing set. The late afternoon performance in the sweltering heat, during the U.K. fest’s “Tea Time” slot—which, days before, Stewart mockingly described, “sounds like pipe and slippers, doesn’t it?”—featured a 21-song set of many of his classic rock recordings, including many covers for which he’s put his stamp on over the years. So, besides Rod the Mod favorites such as “You Wear It Well” and “Maggie May,” the audience also got his well known versions of “The First Cut is the Deepest” (Cat Stevens) and “Forever Young” (Bob Dylan), along with a cover of the O’Jays’ “Love Train.” Oh, and “Lady Marmalade.” Stewart was joined by Ronnie Wood, his friend and bandmate in the Jeff Beck Group and Faces, for several tracks towards the end, including a stellar performance of “Stay With Me.” The set also included a cover of “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” the Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes chestnut, which on this day featured a guest vocal by Mick Hucknall. For “Hot Legs,” Stewart was joined by none other than Lulu. (See the complete setlist below.)
Stewart was accompanied by an orchestra at the start of the set.

The performance took place two days after Stewart issued his first solo career-spanning hits collection. Ultimate Hits. [The title is available in the U.S. here and in the U.K. here.]

Stewart turned 80 on January 10. His busy 2025 includes the return of his “One Last Time” tour, which did a European leg during the spring; a return to his record-breaking Las Vegas residency, The Encore Shows, in May and again in September; and bringing his “One Last Time” tour to North America, South America and back to Europe to close out the year. Tickets to see him are available here and here.
Lulu, 76, thanked her host on her social media pages.
