The Go-Go’s have announced several rescheduled 2022 dates to celebrate the band’s recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The concerts include intimate shows on the west coast at the end of March. They’ve also been tapped as the opening act for Billy Idol’s brief U.K. tour in June, the group’s first U.K. tour in 26 years. The group had been scheduled to play the dates just before and after New Year’s but they were postponed when a member of their “team” tested positive for Covid-19. (They also had dates scheduled in 2020 in other markets that were canceled due to the pandemic; it’s not known whether the group will follow these concerts with a lengthier tour.)

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. PT, with fan club and local pre-sales starting on Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. PT. Tickets can be purchased here.

The Jan. 25 announcement noted, “We are very pleased to be starting our west coast tour in just a few short weeks. Because every other band is also looking for venues, we’ve had to alter our routing a little, but we hope our fans will be as happy and excited to see us as we are to see them! Lots of love from The Go-Go’s!”

The Go-Go’s are the first multi-platinum-selling, all-female band to play their own instruments, write their own songs and reach #1 on the U.S. album chart.

Rooted in the early L.A. punk scene, the group’s core lineup is Charlotte Caffey (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Belinda Carlisle (lead vocals), Gina Schock (drums, percussion, vocals), Kathy Valentine (bass guitar, vocals) and Jane Wiedlin (guitar, vocals).

The Go-Go’s rose to fame following the release of their 1981 debut album, Beauty and the Beat, a collection of infectious tracks with huge hooks, which topped the Billboard chart for six consecutive weeks. It includes the favorites “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got the Beat” and resulted in a Grammy® nomination for Best New Artist.

On October 30, the Go-Go’s will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Tina Turner, Carole King, Jay-Z, Foo Fighters and Todd Rundgren in the Class of 2021.

In 2020 the band released their documentary, The Go-Go’s, which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, achieving a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Directed by Alison Ellwood, the candid and archive-rich documentary assesses the group’s place in music and the first to set the record straight about their historical ascent to global stardom. In 2020, the Go-Go’s also released their first new recording in nearly 20 years, “Club Zero.” Valentine released her memoir in 2020. Schock will publish a coffee table photo book, Made in Hollywood: All Access With the Go-Go’s, on Oct. 26.

“I truly had no idea that I was to become the Go-Go’s archivist,” says Schock. “I’ve always loved photography, so taking photos of the band was a natural process.”
