Dead & Company, the Grateful Dead successor that includes core GD members Bob Weir (guitar, vocals), Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart (drummers), has announced additional shows to what will be their final tour under that name and configuration, in the summer of 2023, with 29 concerts running from May to July, where it ends, fittingly, in San Francisco. See the updated itinerary below. The tour is produced by Live Nation.
The group, founded in 2015, two decades after Jerry Garcia’s death ended the 30-year run of the Grateful Dead, also includes John Mayer (guitar and vocals), Oteil Burbridge (bass, percussion, and vocals) and Jeff Chimenti (keyboards).
The band has toured regularly since its inception, kept from the road by the pandemic in 2020. In 2021, drummer Jay Lane subbed for Kreutzmann on some dates while the latter recovered from Covid-19. Lane again sat in for Kreutzmann during some 2022 shows. The band has not disclosed its reasons for shutting down following the 2023 tour.
The original dates were shared on Oct. 6. From that announcement: To ensure that tickets get directly into the hands of fans, advance presale registration is now available here, powered by Seated. The Artist Presale takes place Oct. 20 from noon and runs through 10 p.m. local time. Advance registration does not guarantee tickets. Supplies are limited. Tickets will be available to the general public on Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. local time here.
The three Grateful Dead members of Dead & Company have worked together and separately in various configurations since Garcia’s passing. Weir is currently involved with Bobby Weir and Wolf Bros, a band that includes Blue Note Records president and noted producer Don Was on bass.

Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, who performs with a revolving cast of musicians as Phil and Friends, has never been a member of Dead & Company.
