Before they became one of the biggest bands in the world, Creedence Clearwater Revival was a Bay Area rock outfit known as the Golliwogs. For several years in the mid-’60s, the young band honed their skills on the road and in the studio. This fall, Craft Recordings, the catalog division of Concord Bicycle Music, is releasing a comprehensive collection of music from the Golliwogs, entitled Fight Fire: The Complete Recordings 1964-1967.
Due out Sept. 29, the compilation culls all of the band’s singles and B-sides, plus several recordings that were never released when the Golliwogs—Tom and John Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford—were active in the three years leading up to the transformation into Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fight Fire will be available as a deluxe vinyl gatefold package, featuring two LPs, new liner notes by compilation producer Alec Palao, plus rare archival photos. The title will also be available on CD and across all major digital and streaming platforms.
Pre-order Fight Fire: The Complete Recordings 1964-1967 on vinyl or CD.
