The Who have added two dates to their 2022 fall tour. “The Who Hits Back!” brings Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend back to U.S. and Canadian venues after a break following their spring run. Once again, The Who will share the stage with some of the area’s finest orchestras. Produced by Live Nation, the fall leg begins on Oct. 2 with dates through early November.
The two new dates are in San Jose, Calif. and Phoenix, Ariz. Many of the shows feature special guests Mike Campbell & the Dirty Knobs.
Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
Prior to this year, the last concerts The Who gave were four acoustic club dates on Feb. 12 and 14, 2020, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their legendary Live at Leeds performance.
“The Who Hits Back!” tour will feature The Who’s full live band comprised of guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, keyboardist Loren Gold, second keyboardist Emily Marshall, bassist Jon Button, drummer Zak Starkey and backing vocals by Billy Nicholls, along with orchestra conductor Keith Levenson, lead violinist Katie Jacoby and lead cellist Audrey QSnyder.

In the original Feb. 7 announcement, Roger Daltrey says, “Pete and I said we’d be back, but we didn’t think we’d have to wait for two years for the privilege. This is making the chance to perform feel even more special this time around. So many livelihoods have been impacted due to Covid, so we are thrilled to get everyone back together – the band, the crew and the fans. We’re gearing up for a great show that hits back in the only way The Who know how. By giving it everything we got.”
