“Pajamas”

Season two of AXS TV’s original music series Rock & Roll Road Trip With Sammy Hagar Presented By Mercury Insurance follows the Red Rocker as he travels to notable music cities throughout the U.S. to interview and jam with some of his friends in music including John Mayer, John Mellencamp, James Hetfield (Metallica), Mick Fleetwood, Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Joe Satriani and Melissa Etheridge.

This Sunday, April 2, at 9 p.m. Eastern / 6 p.m. Pacific, Hagar has an intimate rock talk and blues jam with ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons at the picturesque Mountain Winery concert hall in Saratoga, California. Best Classic Bands is pleased to present an exclusive clip from the all-new broadcast. (Watch it below.)

Season two’s 12 episodes kicked off in Hagar and James Hetfield’s hometown of San Francisco, where the 2016 edition of their star-studded 3rd annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit concert took place. The concert, at the Fillmore Theatre, was shared with TV audiences for the first time on Rock & Roll Road Trip‘s season two premiere. During the one-hour broadcast, Hagar interviewed Hetfield, Satriani, Mayer and Etheridge, leading into jams with Hagar, Hetfield, Mayer, Tommy Lee, Satriani, Etheridge, Train’s Pat Monahan, Vic Johnson and more.

On this Sunday’s episode, Hagar shoots the breeze with ZZ Top guitarist and vocalist Gibbons.

Asked about what he likes to do when he’s not rocking on stage, Gibbons sums it up with one word: “Pajamas. Pajamas are very important.” Throughout his career, Gibbons’ love for the comfortable clothing has become well known by artists who have toured with ZZ Top over the years. He’s even developed his own creative codename for them, revealing, “Pajamas can also be referred to as your ‘Fine French Leisure Suit’, when you need that kind of cover. Derek Rose of London, or Walmart. You take your pick.”
