Paul McCartney opened the 2024 edition of his “Got Back” tour on Tuesday, October 1 in Montevideo, Uruguay. The concert by the legendary performer, who turned 82 on June 18, spanned 37 songs and represented his first full outing since he closed his 2023 tour last Dec. 16 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. (Though he’s taken the stage for several unannounced appearances, his only scheduled performance in between the concerts was at the Jimmy Buffett tribute show in April.) Of note, at Estadio Centenario, was the concert debut of “Now and Then,” the song billed as The Beatles that was based on a demo recording by John Lennon that was released in 2023 as part of their updated “blue” collection. Watch the performance below.
The evening’s setlist was almost identical to those he performed during the 2023 edition of the tour, spanning his career from the Quarrymen, the Beatles, Wings, and solo material.
McCartney shared a rehearsals clip earlier in the day.

The tour continues through November 17 with stadium shows in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Columbia, Costa Rica, and Mexico. After a break of several weeks it resumes in Europe with arena concerts in Paris, Spain and the U.K. Tickets for most of the shows are available here.
