John Fogerty has announced dates for his 2025 “The Legacy” tour in support of his recent album. [Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years, released on August 22, is comprised of newly recorded versions of his most beloved songs.] He’ll be joined on tour by the rock band, Hearty Har, which is led by his sons Shane Fogerty and Tyler Fogerty, who will also serve as special guest. Tickets for these new shows, announced on August 25, go on sale starting August 27 at 10 a.m. local time here.

On May 28, an absolutely pouring night in Manhattan, the writer of “Who’ll Stop the Rain?” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” celebrated his 80th birthday doing what he loves, performing the first of two career-spanning shows at the Beacon Theatre.

As Best Classic Bands wrote in its review, how many ’60s recording stars are still out there performing at such a high level? Fogerty‘s voice, guitar playing and stage presence are all still first-rate. And his repertoire is so rich, filled with such Creedence Clearwater Revival favorites as “Proud Mary,” “Up Around the Bend,” “Down on the Corner” and “Fortunate Son,” as well as his solo cuts like “Centerfield” and “Rock and Roll Girls,” that his setlist programs like a deluxe greatest hits package.

As founder of CCR, Fogerty’s career spans 50 years and he is hailed as one of the most influential musicians in rock history. As the writer, singer and producer of numerous classic rock hits including “Born on the Bayou,” “Green River,” and “Bad Moon Rising,” Fogerty has been honored as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists, 100 Greatest Songwriters, and 100 Greatest Singers by Rolling Stone. Earning induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, he is also a New York Times best-selling author for his memoir, Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music. In January 2023 he regained control over his works, acquiring majority interest of his worldwide publishing rights. His extensive recorded catalog, including 2025’s Legacy, is available in the U.S. here, in Canada here and in the U.K. here.
