Herb Alpert continues his busy schedule with dozens more dates announced for his 2026 tour with the reformed Tijuana Brass Band, his first such tour in over four decades. With an all-new lineup, Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass & Other Delights are commemorating the 60th anniversary of his historic album Whipped Cream & Other Delights performing hits like “The Lonely Bull,” “Spanish Flea,” “Taste of Honey” and his vocal smash, “This Guy’s In Love With You.” Tickets are available here and here.
The first leg of their 2025 tour included a performance on March 31, at New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center when the legendary musician and label executive turned 90. That date was a quick sell-out; a second show was added for April 1 and Best Classic Bands was there. “The star gave a master class of performance, bandleading and storytelling,” we wrote in our review.
A 60th anniversary vinyl picture disc edition of Whipped Cream… was released on April 25, 2025. The remastered edition on 180-gram vinyl is available in the U.S./worldwide here, in Canada here and in the U.K. here.

“60 years ago in late February 1965, I went into Gold Star Recording Studio in Los Angeles to record what would become my 4th album, Whipped Cream & Other Delights,” says Alpert. “I never went in with the thought of making an iconic album that people would still be listening to in 2025. I approached the making of this album as I do every single time that I record, which is to find great songs that touch me and to then work with really great musicians that can help paint the picture and create the vibe and feel that I am looking for. I have always made music for my own enjoyment. The album’s collection of songs touched me and I remember listening in the studio to the final mixes as they were being sequenced into the final album form and thinking, ‘I really love this.’ And, who knew the album cover would be so iconic?”

Alpert’s 2024 studio effort, 50, marked a tremendous milestone in a storied music career that began well over 60 years ago in 1962: 50 was the Tijuana Brass maestro’s 50th studio album.
Alpert and his partner, Jerry Moss, started A&M Records in 1962 as a home for Alpert’s Tijuana Brass projects, but within a few years grew into an unusually creative independent imprint, releasing landmark records by Wes Montgomery, Antonio Carlos Jobim, The Police, Joan Armatrading and dozens of others.

[Alpert was reminded of another personal milestone in September 2023, when Taylor Swift made headlines for having four albums in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts at the same time, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished by a living artist since 1966 when Alpert did so with Going Places, Whipped Cream & Other Delights, South of the Border, and The Lonely Bull.]

Jump into a conversationWe LOVED the 2020 Documentary, “Herb Alpert Is…” and have already rewatched it! What an amazing man!
The first album I ever bought (OK, my parents bought for me) was Kingston Trio – College Concert. The second was Meet the Beatles, and the third was Whipped Cream.
I was eight, and even though I wasn’t too hot on girls at the time, that album cover was an epiphany.
Dolores Erickson also turns 90 this year. As the immortal Lefty Wilbury would put it, “Rwar-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r”!
Saw Herb Alpert about 7 years ago @ North Central College in Illinois. Just a phenomenal musician!!! Many great musical pieces brought back wonderful memories growing up in Chicago. Truly a part of Americana. Herb still has IT!!
