Paul McCartney Announces Intimate Show to Kick Off 2025 ‘Got Back’ Tour
by Best Classic Bands StaffPaul McCartney has added a date to the 2025 edition of his “Got Back” tour in North America. He’ll now kick off the run of 21 concerts—mostly of arenas with several stadium dates—with a show at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, Calif., on September 26, three days before the run was originally scheduled to begin. The tour continues through late November. The original tour announcement, just before 8 a.m. ET on July 10, followed the briefest of teaser campaigns. As he’s done in recent years, the legend, who turned 83 on June 18, showed images the day before on some of his social media platforms of a pair of guitar picks with his name on one and “Got Back in 2025” on another.
For the chance to get tickets to the Paul McCartney Rocks Santa Barbara Bowl show—announced on Sept. 15—fans must register in advance here. by Sept. 16 at 10 p.m. local time. Tickets will be limited to two tickets per customer and it’s a phone-free experience. Tickets will be extremely limited for the 4500-seat amphitheater.
The 2025 concerts include such major cities as Chicago, Montreal, Denver and Atlanta, but omit New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, and more. See the itinerary below. Tickets are available here.
McCartney’s 2024 tour of South America, Central America, Mexico, Europe and the U.K. concluded, fittingly, with the second of two concerts at The O2 in London, U.K. Making the evening extra special was an appearance by the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, who joined his friend on stage towards the end of the main set to perform “Get Back.” Still later, during the encores, none other than Ringo Starr joined McCartney to perform a pair of Beatles favorites: “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter.”

Earlier this year, McCartney played a series of three concerts in four nights at the intimate Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The February shows preceded his live performance that took place within the SNL50 Anniversary Special. Tickets for those club dates, were priced for just 50 bucks, and were limited to one per person at the box-office only. The standing-only venue has a capacity of just 575 persons.

Jump into a conversationThat’s pretty freaking awesome really that he’s still gonna do another tour but judging from recent videos, his voice is starting to really go downhill not surprising since he’s over 80 years old
Wish he would do Small Venues and do Acoustic Sets. The days of trying to fill stadiums is over. Protect Your Legacy and Save Your Voice. Respectfully, from A Paul Aficionado
