Judas Priest ‘No Surrender’ Video Features Glenn Tipton

Judas Priest’s latest studio album, Firepower, released March 9 (via Epic Records), has become one of the most successful of the band’s career. The album has reached the Top 5 in 17 countries, including their highest chart placement ever in the U.S., thanks in part to the success of the rock radio single, “Lightning Strike.”

On July 23, the band released a music video for “No Surrender” from the album. “’No Surrender’ captures the true metal fighting spirit,” said the band in the announcement, “and metalheads around the world find a united voice within the message of this song. When you honestly believe in yourself and live your life the way you have the right to with no surrender, then nothing will ever stop you from living your dream.”

What makes the clip even more noteworthy is the appearance of Glenn Tipton. It was revealed on Feb. 11 of this year that the guitarist was diagnosed to have the onset of the early stages of Parkinson’s. Priest toured earlier this year without him, though Tipton memorably joined his bandmates on March 20 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ for their three-song encore of “Metal Gods,” “Breaking the Law” and “Living After Midnight.”

Judas Priest begin a North American co-headlining tour on August 21 with classic rock favorites Deep Purple. (See dates below.) When Tipton’s diagnosis was revealed, the band announced: “True to the metal spirit of ‘the show must go on’ Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him.”
