Emerson, Lake and Palmer Live Collection Coming to Vinyl
by Best Classic Bands StaffA live collection of Emerson, Lake and Palmer performing in South America, already available as a 4-CD set, is being released as a 2-LP collection on April 7 via Rockbeat Records. The vinyl collection is culled from 1993 and 1997 concerts in Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Pre-order is available here.
Fans of the progressive rock supergroup were dealt two brutal losses in 2016 with the deaths of both Keith Emerson and Greg Lake.
Once Upon a Time in South America is a worthy addtion to the ELP catalog. The CD and vinyl collections feature complete, career-spanning concerts including “Lucky Man,” “Still… You Turn Me On,” “Tarkus” and “Karn Evil 9 1st Impression Part 2.”

The repertoire also features ELP covers of “America” from West Side Story and King Crimson’s “21st Century Schizoid Man” as well as their familiar versions of Aaron Copland’s “Hoedown” and “Fanfare for the Common Man.”
