David Gilmour ‘Luck and Strange’ 2024 Concerts Get Album, Film Releases

The sold-out concert tour that David Gilmour did to support his 2024 studio album, Luck and Strange, is being commemorated with several releases in a variety of formats. A pair of live releases, The Luck and Strange Concerts (CD, vinyl) and Live at the Circus Maximus (Blu-ray, DVD) are coming simultaneously on October 17, 2025, that beautifully capture the tour. They’ll be preceded by a limited theatrical showing of the Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome film in cinemas and IMAX worldwide on September 17.

Gilmour‘s tour began with two warm-up shows at the Brighton Centre before moving to Circus Maximus in Rome for six nights, followed by the same at London’s Royal Albert Hall before moving to the U.S. for evenings at the Intuit Dome and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and concluding with five nights at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome film is being released via Sony Music Vision and Trafalgar Releasing. It sees Gilmour return to the city’s historic venue at the beginning of his first tour in nearly a decade. His collaborator Gavin Elder filmed the spectacle against the backdrop of the ancient ruins. Tickets at cinemas around the world will go on sale August 6 at 2 p.m. BST/ 9 a.m. EDT / 6 a.m. PDT. Full screening details for both IMAX and standard format cinemas will be available at davidgilmour.film. Live at the Circus Maximus will then be released on 2-Blu-ray and 3-DVD sets with bonus unseen footage, mixed in 5.1 and Atmos (Blu-ray only). The Luck and Strange Concerts feature 23 tracks across 4-LPs or 2-CDs recorded at selected shows from the tour and blends solo tracks from Gilmour’s most recent album, including a rendition of “Between Two Points” with his daughter, Romany Gilmour, along with such Pink Floyd classics as “Breathe (In the Air),” “Time,” “Wish You Were Here” and “Comfortably Numb.” Both formats, with a 24-page book, are available in the U.S. here, in Canada here and in the U.K. here.
