Some of the great performers in the “Bohemian Rhapsody” 2025 flash mob in Paris.

Flash mob (noun): a group of people summoned (as by email or text message) to a designated location at a specified time to perform an indicated action before dispersing.

While scrolling through social media on September 9, 2025, many people came across a clip headlined “The most INSANE Bohemian Rhapsody Flashmob you will ever see!!” We’ll leave that to you but the video of the street performance Queen masterpiece uploaded that day by Julien Cohen, just may live up to that lofty billing.

The video on YouTube is described by its creator as “the full song like you never dreamed of seeing or hearing it… with 30 musicians and singers in the streets of Paris.” When we first viewed it on the platform, it had garnered over 125,000 views. (As we started writing this story, the number was up to 158,000. By the time we had finished half an hour later, it had surpassed 187,000.)

The clip begins with a trio of female vocalists singing from a first floor window above a cafe. They’re quickly joined by a pair of singers and Cohen, on piano, all of whom are in the open plaza directly below. Soon, one of several cameras cuts to a fellow singing from another window, while yet another shows the reactions of passersby on a beautiful, sunny Parisian day.

Suddenly, a horseless carriage driver appears, named Mickey Callisto, also holding a microphone—who bears a slight resemblance to Freddie Mercury—to sing the familiar “Mama, just killed a man” lyric. The crowd reacts accordingly.

More surprises arrive in rapid-fire fashion: a young man behind a drum kit is revealed, as does an 11 year-old guitarist in high top black Converse sneakers and shades, who goes by the name of Guitar Olly, to do the Brian May solo. Meanwhile, the three female singers, who started things off, have made it downstairs.

For the song’s complex operatic portion, once again the cameras go to the windows of the building to reveal multiple sets of singers.
