Though he no longer tours, Billy Joel continues to perform concerts roughly twice per month. He continues his monthly residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden and usually does one other show elsewhere.

Booked thus far for 2020 is his first performance ever at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend Ind., on June 20. (He last played the city in 1996.)

He’s also begun to announce his annual visits to many of America’s most beloved ballparks. Already confirmed: his first appearances at Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park and Detroit’s Comerica Park. He’ll also be returning to Boston’s Fenway Park, and he’ll be doing his first concert in Buffalo in ten years.

In 2019, he made his first visits to Denver’s Coors Field (home of the Rockies), the Milwaukee Brewers’ Miller Park, and Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore.

On March 9, Joel visited Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., and treated the audience to a surprise version of the Eagles’ “Take it Easy.”

Joel, who turned 70 on May 9, has played one show per month at The Garden since January 2014, an unprecedented run. His December 2019 concert will mark his 71st consecutive sold-out show at the World’s Most Famous Arena and his 115th overall performance at there.

The MSG shows are often marked with surprise guest appearances by fellow classic rock legends. On Jan. 11, 2018, Joel was joined by Foreigner’s Mick Jones and Lou Gramm. In December 2017, Steve Miller sang “The Joker” with him. On Sept. 26, 2017, Joel reversed the trend when he joined Paul McCartney onstage at the Garden.

The beloved musician, singer and songwriter has sold a reported 150 million records worldwide. In 2013, Joel received The Kennedy Center Honors, one of the United States’ top cultural awards. He is also the recipient of six GRAMMY® Awards, including the prestigious Grammy Legend Award. Joel has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has received numerous industry awards including a Tony for Movin’ Out, a Broadway musical based on his music.
