The latest title in a notable series on The Beatles’ recorded output is being published by author Bruce Spizer. Beatles For Sale to Help!, the author’s 17th title on the band, arrives August 12, 2025, via 498 Productions to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the American release of the Beatles colorful second film. The 9″ x 9″ hardcover book, matching the other books in Spizer’s acclaimed Beatles album series, is 272 pages and contains over 285 color and original black and white images. It’s available for pre-order in the U.S. here, in Canada here and the U.K. here.

From the announcement: From November 1964 through Summer 1965, the Beatles issued two albums (Beatles For Sale and Help!), three singles (“I Feel Fine,” “Ticket To Ride” and “Help!”) and a movie (Help!) in Great Britain. In the United States, Capitol Records reconfigured the two albums into three: Beatles ’65, Beatles VI and the Help! Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The label also released a two-record documentary album titled The Beatles’ Story and added the singles “Eight Days A Week” and “Yesterday.”

The ninth book in Spizer’s acclaimed Beatles Album Series, Beatles For Sale to Help! covers these releases from the British, American and Canadian perspectives. The book contains highly detailed chapters on the EMI recording sessions for the albums and singles, and the album covers. And, like the other books in the Beatles Album Series, the book contains chapters on the news, music and films of the era (plus a special chapter on the Beatles and James Bond) to place these records and the Beatles second film in their proper context. And, of course, fan recollections of seeing the film Help! and listening to the great Beatles records issued during the time frame covered by the book.

The new title follows 2023’s The Beatles Please Please Me to With The Beatles and 2022’s The Beatles Rubber Soul to Revolver, which coincided with the band’s deluxe editions of 1966’s Revolver. Many of Spizer’s other Beatles books are available here.

Spizer has written 17 critically acclaimed Beatles books and contributed essays for Apple Corps Ltd.’s 2024 boxed set, The Beatles: 1964 U.S. Albums In Mono. He has appeared on many national TV programs (ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS’s Early Show, CNN, Fox) and radio programs (NPR, ABC, BBC) as a Beatles expert and has given presentations at the Grammy Museum, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and Beatles conventions in the U.S. and Liverpool. Spizer serves a consultant on Beatles projects for Universal Music Group, Capitol Records, and Apple Corps, Ltd. He lives in New Orleans, Louisiana.
