No artists have yet been announced, but if you are a fan of Led Zeppelin, you’ll want to save the date (and save your dollars): Michael Dorf Presents the Music of Led Zeppelin is scheduled to take place at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall in New York on March 7, 2018. The advertisement for the upcoming tribute, the 15th in an annual series, promises 21 artists in all, but you’ll have to wait to find out who they are.

Dorf, a founder of the Knitting Factory and City Winery, has presented similar tributes at the legendary venue for the past several years, including shows honoring David Bowie,  Talking Heads, Paul Simon, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Elton John, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Last year’s Bowie tribute featured performances from the Flaming Lips, Michael Stipe, Pixies, Debbie Harry, Cat Power, Laurie Anderson and Mumford & Sons, among others, while the 2017 Aretha Franklin event included Melissa Etheridge, Heart’s Ann Wilson, Todd Rundgren and Kenny Loggins, plus many other performers. All previous shows have sold out.

So, does that mean that we can expect to see a reunion of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones next year? It’s hard to say. At some of the Carnegie events, the artist being honored has wowed the audience, while at others there was no such luck. Plant, in particular, has been dead set against any sort of Zep reunion, but the events have generally been planned with the approval of the artists being feted.

Beneficiaries from ticket sales will include several organizations that support music education. Preliminary high-end VIP ticket details may be found here.
