Timothy B. Schmit has issued a new single, “The Good Fight.” The surprise release, with Sheryl Crow, arrived early Friday morning (Nov. 15). The song is written and produced by Schmit. The brief announcement didn’t indicate whether there was a new Schmit solo album in the works. Listen to it below.

In a brief statement, Schmit said: “I recorded a new song “The Good Fight” with my friend Sheryl Crow. There couldn’t be any better time than right now to release this.”

Schmit, best known as the bass player with the Eagles, released his last solo album, Leap of Faith, in 2016, supporting it with an extensive 2017 solo tour.

Schmit has released six solo albums – Playin’ It Cool (1984), Timothy B. (1987), Tell Me the Truth (1990), Feed the Fire (2001), Expando (2009), and Leap of Faith (2016). He has been a longtime member of both Poco and the Eagles. Schmit has won three Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received the Kennedy Center Honors as a member of the Eagles.

Eagles have added dates to their 2020 tour in which they will perform their Hotel California album in its entirety. The tour follows three sold-out concerts this fall at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada that featured the classic rock band performing their top-selling album, with a 46-piece orchestra and 22-member choir.
