Happy Together 2019 Dates Added: See Lineup

The 10th anniversary lineup of the popular tour of ’60s pop music acts, known as the Happy Together tour, has been revealed, along with dozens of dates. The tour is named, of course, for the Turtles’ big 1967 hit.

The Turtles continue as the signature headliners, but with the voice of the Archies, Ron Dante, again joining Turtles founding member and singer Mark Volman. (Fellow Turtles founder, Howard Kaylan, also sat out the 2018 tour “for medical reasons.”)

The rest of the 2019 lineup, in order of billing: Chuck Negron (formerly of Three Dog Night), Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, the Buckinghams, the Classics IV and the Cowsills. Together, they represent dozens of Top 10 radio hits.

Longtime Paul Revere & the Raiders lead vocalist Mark Lindsay, who had a pacemaker insertion not long after the 2018 tour ended, will appear at two dates. Tommy James has been added to the August 26 lineup. Not returning from 2018: the Association.

The Turtles have sold over 40 million records worldwide. Their hits include: “Happy Together,” “She’d Rather Be With Me,” “Elenore,” “It Ain’t Me Babe” and “You Showed Me.”

Chuck Negron performs some of Three Dog Night’s biggest hits including “Joy to the World,” “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” “Shambala,” “One” and “Easy To Be Hard.”

Gary Puckett & the Union Gap enjoyed five Top 10 singles including their 1967 debut, “Woman Woman,” as well as “Young Girl” and “Lady Willpower.”

The Buckinghams’ run of hits included the #1 smash “Kind of a Drag,” as well as “Don’t You Care” and “Susan.”

The Classics IV earned three Top 5 singles in the late ’60s, “Spooky,” “Stormy” and “Traces.

The Cowsills have been part of the last few years of the tour. Bob, Paul and Susan Cowsill are a family singing group and the original inspiration for television’s The Partridge Family and are best known for the songs “The Rain, The Park and Other Things,” “Hair,” “Indian Lake” and “Love American Style.”

are the bands listed for 2019 tour guaranteed, so to speak, or expected to perform at all shows on tour or do the bands substitute out in different regions or shows? I would be disappointed if I could not see those bands specifically listed on the 2019 tour

My understanding is all of them are on the entire tour although I realize that doesn’t necessarily answer your question.

“Aug 22 – Moorhead, MI – Bluestern Center for the Arts” is a typo. It should be Moorhead, MN (Minnesota, not Michigan) at Bluestem Center for the Arts (not BluesterN.)

Just to let you know that Denver has been added to the concert list, and they’ll all be playing at the Paramount Theatre there on Aug. 24. I’ll be there. Mark LIndsay will be performing at the Denver and Stockton concerts only, because Chuck Negron won’t be able to attend. I asked Mark personally about this and he emailed me to confirm this.

Many thanks, Bill. We knew a few more were coming but didn’t know about that one specifically. We just added Denver and Peoria.
