Springsteen Selfie Screen Cap 4-20-16

A few years ago, a video and photo went viral of what people are calling the perfect selfie. And the fact that the picture taker was with Bruce Springsteen makes it even better. Warning: if you don’t like to take selfies and/or don’t like The Boss, we suggest you stop reading now.

For the rest of you… 13-year-old Eliza Sollers was at the April 20, 2016, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concert in Baltimore, Maryland. When The Boss waded into the crowd, she shook his hand. She noticed another fan taking a selfie and realized she had missed her chance to get a shot with the classic rock legend. Or so she thought.

Later, when Springsteen looked like he would be approaching her seats, this time she was ready. She started snapping selfies and as he approached, she got the shot of a lifetime. And a tip of the cap to YouTube user “Boss Fan,” who took our Classic Video. “Boss Fan” writes: “This selfie was so flawlessly executed it amazes me. I also happened to be taping in slow motion. The reaction is priceless! Bravo!”

Sollers understandably got her 15 minutes of fame; she was on Good Morning America, for instance. It was her father who turned her on to Springsteen. Sollers said: “Springsteen songs are basically his soundtrack to life so they’re always playing in the car and around the house so they’re pretty much engraved into my head.”
