Cheap Trick’s Epic Records output will be the subject of a third and final package of rarities, via Real Gone. The Epic Archive Vol. 3 (1984-1992), arriving April 26, features rare single versions of several songs including the band’s sole #1 hit, “The Flame,” many soundtrack-only songs, as well as the band’s sensational version of the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour.”
Among the “sonic catnip” for Cheap Trick collectors: “Mighty Wings” from Top Gun, “Money (That’s What I Want)” from Caddyshack II, “You Want It” from Say Anything, and “I Will Survive” from Gladiator, none of which have appeared on any of the band’s studio albums.
The release also includes rare single versions of “It’s Only Love,” “Tonight It’s You,” and “Don’t Be Cruel” (labeled as the “Big New Mix”), plus alternate mixes of “Little Sister,” “She’s Got Motion,” and “Can’t Stop Fallin’ Into Love,” and alternate versions of “How About You” and “All We Need Is a Dream.”
