Let’s face it: This isn’t a very fun election season. Perhaps it’s time once again for Alice Cooper to throw his famous top hot into the ring for President of the United States. Classic rock fans can use some much-needed levity.
And he doesn’t have to worry about some artist getting in a snit if he uses their rock song at a campaign rally because he has his own number for the occasion: a new lyric video of his 1972 song “Elected,” a #26 pop hit from the million-selling #1 album Billion Dollar Babies. Watch it below.
Of course, it’s not the first time that the legend has used the song as a platform for his candidacy. As a press release explained when Cooper announced he was running in 2016, “Alice Cooper is tired of the rhetoric – the mudslinging – the media frenzy. Keeping his snake in his cage and the guillotine in storage, he is putting people before career. Alice Cooper wants to be elected.”

This time, he says, “I can do nothing as well as they can do nothing. I have absolutely no idea what to do.”
