The lineup for Coachella 2017 was announced today (Jan. 3) and guess what? You’re not invited! Unlike recent years, where such classic rock heavyweights as Guns N’ Roses (2016), AC/DC (2015), Red Hot Chili Peppers (2013, 2007), Paul McCartney (2009), Prince and Roger Waters (2008) headlined, this year’s event–taking place April 14-16 and 21-23 in Indio, CA, will be far different.
This year’s headliners are Radiohead, Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. They’ll be joined by such worthy new acts as Lorde, Bon Iver, the xx, Grouplove, Father John Misty, and The Head and the Heart.
And if there were any doubt that the organizers that brought you last October’s two-weekend classic rock festival Desert Trip featuring the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, The Who and Roger Waters will be reprising it for 2017… well, today’s Coachella lineup reveal should put that to rest. The only question is which acts will be featured.
In November, we shared a rumor we heard that the Police would be performing at Desert Trip 2017. Still no confirmation, though.
Guns N’ Roses used last year’s two performances to help kick-off their reunion tour. Their Coachella appearances featured guest spots by Sebastian Bach and Angus Young.
Watch Young’s performance with GN’R…
