Real Gone Music has announced the March 3 release of The Rascals’ The Complete Singles A’s & B’s, a two-CD collection featuring 47 tracks recorded by the New York-area band in the ’60s and ’70s for the Atlantic and Columbia labels. The set includes the A- and B-side of every single the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees cut, including the group’s major hits such as “I Ain’t Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore,” “Good Lovin’,” “Groovin’” (also here in its Spanish and Italian versions), “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long,” “A Girl Like You,” “How Can I Be Sure,” “A Beautiful Morning,” “People Got to Be Free,” “See” and more.
The earlier tracks by the band (originally known as the Young Rascals) appear in their original mono single mixes, with the later songs in their stereo single mixes (28 of the 47 songs on the collection are mono). The package includes a 4500-word essay by Ed Osborne with quotes from members Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati and Gene Cornish, plus rare European picture sleeve singles and photos. Pre-order is available here.)
Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals have tour dates here.
