The annual celebration for vinyl collectors, Record Store Day, was moved this year as a precaution, due to Coronavirus concerns. The event, which takes place at independent record stores worldwide, was split into three “special, properly distanced” release dates on Saturdays for 2020. The assigned release date for the various titles was revealed on June 1. (RSD 2020 had previously been bumped to late June, two months from its customary spot in April.)

The first was held on Aug. 29. Part two was on Sept. 26 and the final event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The titles for Record Store Day 2020, which many simply call “The List,” were revealed in early February and as always there’s a ton of worthy music to be had—much of it available on vinyl for the first time, and plenty that’s never been released before in any format.

This year’s crop brings us titles from Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Roger Waters, The Who, Mott the Hoople, the Grateful Dead, the Doors, Cheap Trick, the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and many more.

Rock music is well represented this year. Keep in mind that these titles are being sold only at brick and mortar record stores, so don’t go looking for them online. If there is something you want, we suggest getting o your favorite vinyl shop early, because many titles are issued in very limited quantities and tend to sell out quickly.
