Fleetwood Mac to Sub For Stones at Jazz Fest 2019

Fleetwood Mac have been named to replace the Rolling Stones at Jazz Fest 2019. (The Stones were forced to postpone their entire 2019 “No Filter” tour when it was revealed that Mick Jagger had a medical issue.) Fleetwood Mac, in the midst of a world tour with a revamped lineup, had a roughly two-month window in between dates of their length tour. They’ll now headline Jazz Fest’s May 2 program.

The full lineup for Jazz Fest 2019 was originally revealed on Jan. 15, chock full of classic rock legends over its two lengthy weekends, set for Apr. 25-28 and May 2-5. Also leading the way are the Santana, Van Morrison and John Fogerty.

Other big names at the event, officially known as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, include artists spanning a broad range of music genres. Some of the biggest for 2019: Katy Perry, Chris Stapleton, Al Green, Tom Jones, Bonnie Raitt, the Doobie Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis and Boz Scaggs.

For this year’s event, the festival, dubbed “50 Years of Joy,” has added a day by opening on the Thursday of its first weekend. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.

The Stones’ appearance had been considered a given as word had leaked out just before the band formally announced their 2019 #NoFilter tour of the U.S.

This year’s daily headliners: Thursday, April 25 – Earth, Wind & Fire, Friday, April 26 – Santana, Saturday, April 27 – Katy Perry, Sunday, April 28 – Van Morrison, Thursday, May 2 – Fleetwood Mac, Friday, May 3 – Chris Stapleton, Saturday, May 4 – Dave Matthews Band, and Sunday, May 5 – Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band.
