Yes Add Even More Dates to Yestival Tour

Like other bands have done, Yes used the platform of their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017 induction ceremony on April 7 to announce that they will take a victory lap tour this summer with a “Yestival,” referring to the concept they’ve done in previous years. The group will be joined by Carl Palmer‘s ELP Legacy, including a tribute to Keith Emerson and Greg Lake, and special guest Todd Rundgren.

At the time, Yes guitarist Steve Howe revealed that the group will perform one song from the studio albums through 1980’s Drama “plus a couple of surprises. We have ideas [for which songs]. The shape [of the setlist] is starting to sink in.”

On July 17, the band added four more dates, marked with an “*” below.

Tickets are available here and here. (See the updated itinerary below.)

The current lineup features Howe, longtime drummer Alan White, longtime keyboardist Geoff Downes, multi-instrumentalist Billy Sherwood and vocalist Jon Davison.

A number of the dates you’ve added are for “Yes Featuring Anderson Rabin and Wakeman,” not Yes with their Yestival. Two different groups.

Thanks, Jeff. We had a brain cramp and have deleted the ARW dates from this story. Great catch!

Why delete those performances? 2 of the most recognized names associated with the creation of YES music + Rabin who revitalized the group during transitional years = 3 creators of YES music — vs 2 in the current “official” YES band? You’re dovetailing onto their induction into R&RHOF, why not KEEP those dates and asterisk them or use parentheses or something— and give people what they ultimately want— to be able to hear YES MUSIC from the artists just inducted?

Just seems like deleting them, vs differentiating them, serves no one other than a HEADLINE on a web story.

No easy answer and frankly the two factions now using the Yes name confused me when we put this item together the other day.
