Tom Petty Specials Coming to TV

The AXS TV network will celebrate the legacy of Tom Petty with a special presentation of the concert film Tom Petty – Live From Gatorville tonight on Friday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. Eastern. The network will also rerun the profile piece Rock Legends: Tom Petty on Friday, Oct. 20 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern, with an encore broadcast that same day at 2:10 p.m. Eastern.

The 2006 concert film features Petty returning to his hometown of Gainesville, FL at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center for an emotional evening, blazing through a career-spanning two-hour set that features Heartbreaker favorites, solo tunes, and a selection of tracks from Petty’s solo work and the Traveling Wilburys.

The concert, his first in Gainesville since 1993, includes a guest appearance by Stevie Nicks on four songs. Highlights include performances of such classic rock favorites as “Runnin’ Down A Dream,” “Don’t Come Around Here No More,” “Southern Accent,” “American Girl,” “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” and the Nicks duets “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” and “I Need to Know,” among many others.
