Singer/songwriter Michael McDonald will launch a North American tour this summer, beginning July 7 in Indio, Calif., through Sept. 23 in Huntington, N.Y. Confirmed dates include two nights at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl with Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross as well as performances at New York’s South Street Seaport, Washington, D.C.’s Filene Center at Wolf Trap with Peter Cetera, St. Louis’ Loufest, the Cityfolk Festival in Ottawa and more.

See below for a list of dates. Go here or here for tickets.

McDonald is on tour in support of his most recent release, Wide Open, out now via BMG. The album features special guests including Warren Haynes, Robben Ford, Marcus Miller and Branford Marsalis.

Wide Open follows a trio of albums of R&B and soul covers McDonald recorded for the Motown label, the most recent being 2008’s Soul Speak. Wide Open is McDonald’s first album of original material in 17 years, composed largely of material written over a number of years in between projects and recorded in his Nashville studio with drummer Shannon Forrest (Faith Hill, Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Toto) and an extensive cast of Nashville session musicians.
