It promises to be one of the year’s major rock tours: Def Leppard and Journey are playing together in North America this year, beginning May 21 in Hartford, Conn., and winding up Oct. 6 at the L.A. Forum. The two bands are sharing headline status and will alternate opening and closing spots on the shows. In the joint tour announcement, it ‘s noted that the tour “will feature complete sets and all-new production from both bands.”
The tour, promoted by Live Nation, was originally revealed on Jan. 21. In the days following the announcement, the bands added Cheap Trick, Peter Frampton, Pretenders and Foreigner, for selected dates. (See below.)

On Feb. 21, the bands released a video featuring Journey’s Neal Schon and Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott plotting the tour from Live Nation’s offices. “Let’s do this!”
