According to an exclusive article posted today (Sept. 18) on the Billboard website, John Fogerty has signed a new recording contract with BMG. The article states that the former Creedence Clearwater Revival leader will release a new album and reissues as part of the new arrangement.

First up, it says, will be the Nov. 17 release of the 20th anniversary reissue of Blue Moon Swamp, in various configurations and a new cover. The new solo album, as yet untitled and with no release date stated, will be Fogerty’s first since 2013’s Wrote a Song for Everyone.

In a quote to Billboard, Fogerty stated, “I’m excited to partner with BMG for the next chapter of my music career. Their enthusiasm and confidence, affording me the creative freedom to make the music I want to make, has been absolutely refreshing. We have so many new and intriguing ideas that I look forward to sharing with everyone soon.”

BMG A&R executive John Loeffler stated, “We couldn’t be more proud to sign a cultural and musical icon like John Fogerty, and become part of his legacy as he continues to create extraordinary and timeless music.”

The article further noted that re-releases of studio sets Centerfield, Eye of the Zombie and Deja Vu (All Over Again) would be coming, as well as the live Premonition album and a new solo hits collection. Blue Moon Swamp, which was named Best Rock Album at the 1998 Grammy Awards, “holds a special place in Fogerty’s heart as its creation signaled a rebirth for the legend following a debilitating lawsuit.”

The article does not say anything about the Creedence classic rock catalog changing hands.
