Jeff Lynne ELO RCMH 2 DatesUpdate (March 31): Tickets for Lynne’s September 16 show at NYC’s Radio City sold-out so quickly, that he’s added a second date for September 18. He teased a NYC concert appearance via social media last Thursday (March 24). And now we know the where and when. Jeff Lynne’s ELO will perform at Radio City Music Hall on September 16.

A fan club presale starts Tuesday, March 29 at 10 am; Amex cardholders get a crack at them on Wed., March 30. Yet more presale tickets will be this Thursday, March 31 at 10 am using password HITMAKER here. If there are any tickets left, the general on sale date is Friday, April 1.

It will be the group’s first appearance at the iconic venue and we wouldn’t be surprised if a second – and even a third – date were added.

Lynne is in the midst of a burst of rejuvenated activity for the Electric Light Orchestra. It started with a huge comeback event before 50,000 in London’s Hyde Park in September 2014, which gave Lynne the confidence that the public interest was not only there, it was insatiable. He recorded Alone In The Universe and signed a worldwide deal with Columbia Records.

Under the moniker Jeff Lynne’s ELO, the album was released on November 13, 2015 and the band did an intimate show at London’s Porchester Hall on November 9th. Club dates in New York (November 20th) and Los Angeles (November 24th) with a 12-piece orchestra followed while Lynne did tons of press and TV appearances.

The band kicks off its first proper tour in years on April 5 in Liverpool with a months of dates in the U.K. and Europe. A trio of dates are scheduled for England in late June as are three performances in Los Angeles with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Strings in September.

In its review of the November 2015 NYC gig, Best Classic Bands called it a “triumph” and wrote Lynne’s “singing voice sounded great and even at 67 was able to hit most of the high notes of songs that he originally recorded while in his twenties.”

Be assured Best Classic Bands will update this story when more North American dates are announced. (If you’re a new reader of ours, we’d be grateful if you would Like our Facebook page and/or bookmark our Home page.)
