Foghat-The-Complete-Bearsville-Albums-Collection-13CD-1024x1024Foghat, one of the busiest classic rock acts on the 1970s concert circuit, recently announced on Facebook that they will be releasing a new box set this spring that includes all 13 albums that the band released on Bearsville Records. The Complete Bearsville Albums Collection is newly remastered and housed in a clamshell box with card wallets inside that replicate the original LP covers. The set will be released on April 15th, but pre-orders are available now via Amazon (see link below).

Formed in the U.K. in 1971 after key members Lonesome Dave Peverett (guitar/vocals) and Roger Earl (drums) left Savoy Brown and joined forces with slide guitarist Rod Price, Foghat signed to Bearsville and recorded and toured nonstop for the next 14 years, eventually relocating to the U.S. Their work ethic, fierce live shows and rock radio staple songs like “Slow Ride,” “Fool for the City” and “I Just Wanna Make Love to You” earned the band an impressive eight gold records, one platinum and one double-platinum award.

The band briefly broke-up in 1984, but soon after Earl revived the band brand (and remains its sole founding member). In 1994 the original line-up reunited for the recording of Return of the Boogie Men and returned to the world stage for a six-year run that also yielded the live album Road Case.

The band has pressed on after the departures and eventual deaths of Peverett (in 2000) and Price (in 2005), continuing to celebrate classic blues and perform their trademark high-energy boogie prominently featuring their signature electric slide guitar.

A new album Under the Influence is in the works via a crowd-funded PledgeMusic campaign. (Click here for more details.) Fans who pre-order the forthcoming record get special access to exclusive audio and video clips of new material. The band will also be re-recording “Slow Ride” to celebrate the tune’s 40th anniversary and honor the memories of Lonesome Dave and Price.
